Where have I seen that guy before?

Thanks to the Very Short List newsletter, I discovered Newseum.org, a site that shows, in real time, front pages of newspapers from 600 newspapers from around the country and the world. It can be fascinating, not only to see how different stories are covered in different places, but for the charm of seeing small-town news on the front page of the local papers.

On December 14, the Lewiston Tribune, daily paper of Lewiston, Idaho, featured above the fold a charming photo of a husky man in a blue-checked shirt decorating a store window for the holiday season. Just below, a news story reported that video cameras clearly captured a crime in progress at a local convenience store, as a man swiped a woman's wallet from where it lay unattended on the counter. The story was accompanied by a crisp photo from the video, in which the "unknown man" can clearly be seen -- a husky fellow in a blue-checked shirt.

Although the newspaper editors clearly lacked the CSI instinct, local authorities didn't miss the subtle clue, and arrested the window-decorator for second-degree theft.

Man Finally Put In Charge Of Struggling Feminist Movement

From The Onion: the power a man might have to obtain equal rights for women.
"Although he has not hinted at any future projects after all forms of gender discrimination are a thing of the past, McGowan has vehemently denied rumors that he will leave the feminist movement to head up the struggle for gay rights."

Why I am a DWTS fan

C'mon, watch this and try to tell me it's not awesome! Julianne Hough and Helio Castroneves perform the quickstep with a nod to The Mask. She's a teenager, he's a race car driver, and I love them both with a fan's total dorkdom.

Sprinkle Brigade

Sprinkle Brigade makes art out of dog poo. I'm not usually one for scatological humor, but I have to admit I actually laughed out loud, several times.

And I want "Poodolph" Christmas cards (see above).

Online Face Morphing - MorphThing

It takes a while to set up your own photos on MorphThing, but it's worth it. Morphing oneself and one's loved ones with each other and/or celebrities is quite amusing.

I learned that I'd be a lot more attractive if I was half Liv Tyler.
